The Heart of TransformationUzorak
The first, and often the hardest, step is to identify the problem of sin and to repent. Repentance is the admission of guilt, the coming to terms with your personal depravity, and the admission that you made a mistake. In our culture today, repentance is no easy task, but it is a necessary first step in the process of becoming all God has for us.
Jesus is concerned with the condition of our hearts, not just our behavior. Transformation is the process that we undergo INTERNALLY when the fabric of our hearts aligns with our repentant confession. Through this, we are changed in our habits, our thinking, AND our actions. Transformation needs to come alongside repentance. Only then will we begin to see true change and not just behavior modification.
Questions:
1. Yesterday you identified a behavior or an area that you have been struggling to change. What is one step you can take toward transformation? Maybe it’s finding a Bible verse to speak over it. Maybe it’s apologizing to someone and committing to do better. Maybe it’s praying for God to align your heart with his.
