Three Ways to Keep the Sabbath, According to JesusShembull
Healing in the streets
Jesus also healed people, and on some Sabbaths he didn't go to the synagogue; instead, he healed on the streets, like when he cured a man born blind. This shows us that praying in church is not the only way to keep the Sabbath.
Once, Jesus allowed the disciples to harvest grain on the Sabbath to eat, demonstrating that Jesus does not want us to go hungry or stop helping those in need on the Sabbath day. Care for the sick and the needy can be done, for example, in an NGO.
But isn't volunteering and caring for the sick also work? About this, Jesus said, 'My Father works even now, and I work also.' Therefore, we believe that work with the sick and needy can be done on the Sabbath.
