God’s Word can make you wise for salvation

Paul writes to Timothy about the importance of the “sacred writings”, God’s Word, for his life. They “are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” How? In the Scriptures, we can read that humanity has fallen in sin, that our hearts are sinful. If we are honest with ourselves, we must admit that this is true. We recognize the evil in our hearts. These “sacred writings” tell us the truth about ourselves.

But the Bible also contains repeated promises of God’s forgiveness. It shows us how Jesus came to this earth to redeem us. If we have faith in him, we will be saved. Through Jesus Christ, we can escape eternal destruction.

Even if this information would be all the Bible had to offer us, it would be immensely important. It shows us the only possible way to a blessed and renewed life. Did you already find this “way”? And do you walk this path of life, as laid out in God’s Word?
