21 Days of Prayer & Fasting: Lectio DivinaChikamu
Preparation: Today, you’ll be reading from Luke 1:34-45. As you enter God’s presence, take some time to breathe and center yourself around Him.
Read: The first step is to read. As you read the passage the first time, pay attention to words or phrases that stick out to you and write those down.
Reflect: This time, reflect on the passage. As you read a second time, be aware of the emotions that arise in you as you listen and what character you relate to in the story, and write those down.
Respond: Now respond. As you reread the passage, pay attention to the voice of the Lord. What is He saying, and what do you need to say in response?
Rest: Finally, rest in God's presence. Before you move on with your day, take a few minutes to meditate on the passage and what God is saying to you.
Pray: Take a moment to pray on your own or use this prayer as a guide:
Heavenly Father, I come before you with thanksgiving for your unfailing love and grace. Like Mary, who humbly submitted to your Word and trusted in your plan, I ask for a heart that fully trusts in you. Help me to follow your call with unwavering faith, knowing your Word never fails. Thank you for calling me blessed and using me for your purpose. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
