21 Days of Prayer & Fasting: Lectio DivinaChikamu
Preparation: Today, you’ll be reading from 2 Kings 4:1-7. Before you begin, take a moment to breathe deeply. Release any tension from your body, clear your mind from distracting thoughts, and set your attention on God’s presence.
Read: The first step is to read. As you read the passage the first time, pay attention to words or phrases that catch your attention and write them down.
Reflect: This time, reflect on the passage. As you read a second time, make a note of what emotions stir up. Which character in the story do you resonate with?
Respond: Now respond. As you reread the passage, start a conversation with the Lord. What is He saying to you through this text? What do you need to say back to Him?
Rest: Finally, rest in God's presence. As you prepare for the remainder of this day, spend a few minutes in silence meditating on God’s Word.
Pray: Take a moment to pray on your own or use this prayer as a guide:
Lord, thank you that you are truly good. I come boldly to you, knowing that my struggles and needs matter to you. Lord, thank you that you see me, hear me, and respond to me. You do not turn a deaf ear or a blind eye. Thank you that your love is active; it's not passive. I trust in you today. In Jesus' name, amen.
