Living in Increase (Part 8) - Increase in WorshipChikamu
Let Everything Praise the Lord
Not only were we, as believers, created to worship God, but the world was created to worship God. The sound of the waves crashing on the shore is music to God’s ears. The sound of the wind hitting the trees is praise to His name.
In Luke 19, we read about Jesus’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem. As He rode in on a colt, “all of His followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen” (Luke 19:37). When the Pharisees heard this, they shouted to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!” (Luke 19:39). Jesus replied, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers” (Luke 19:40).
All the earth and all living things were created to worship the Lord. If you and I choose not to worship God, He will still get His glory. We do not determine his worthiness. If we don’t worship Him, the stones will!
However, we should make it our life’s mission never to be out-praised. We should constantly worship God and join with all creation, singing, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come” (Revelation 4:8)!
