Welcome to the Family: 10 Days for New ChristiansChikamu
Thank You Jesus
“Thank you!”
“Thanks!”
“I appreciate it!”
“I’m so thankful!”
These are all words and phrases that we say regularly (or at least we should), but seldom do we take the time to reflect on the things God has done and is doing for us in the spirit of thankfulness. The song “Thank You Jesus” leads us to do exactly that; to thank Him. To adore Him. It’s a reminder of who He is. It's our declaration of praise.
Notice how Isaiah 43:18-19 says, “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Did you catch that?! He makes ways now. He parts waters now. He is doing a new worknow. What I love about this song is that it keeps our mindset on the present. It’s easy to read through scripture and see all the crazy miracles Jesus performed for others back then and miss the miracles he does now. However, Isaiah calls for us to look around. Verse 19 is saying, “Don’t you see it? Look around. See what the Lord has done. See what the Lord is doing. Declare His praise. Give Him thanks.”
It gives examples of where to look too! Verses 19-21 say that He provides water in the wilderness. Sometimes, we get caught up in looking for the “big” things and we miss the “small” things. We keep waiting for Him to turn the water into wine and grumble when He doesn’t, but we forget that He provided the water in the first place. Thank You, Jesus, for the water! I know we can all look around and see those types of things He provides. The more you look, the more you begin to see His faithfulness.

Jesus valued belonging before believing. “Welcome to the Family,” designed around Venture Worship’s album, “Family Reunion,” highlights principles of faith – victory won through Christ; why growing in faith to trust God with our weakness and future is worth it; how God’s grace is too good to keep quiet. There's power in the blood, and it runs in the family. Welcome home! Venture Worship is the worship ministry of Venture Church, a multi-site church based in Mississippi led by Pastor Craig Curtis.
