The Word Works in MarriageChikamu
The Why
Calling all the overthinkers, busybodies, overachievers, and such. This is your opportunity as a couple to slow down, take a deep breath, and dive deep into the truth of the Word of God. Then apply it to your life, your marriage, and your family.
Over the next seven days, we will take a passage of scripture; unpack exactly what it means to us and how it impacts our life, marriage, and other relationships. As you navigate each day, ask God to open your heart and eyes to experience His words as they come alive. At the end of this, we hope you have added this scripture to your memory bank or maybe been refreshed and reminded through this passage.
If you’ve never memorized a verse before, what better time than now? If you think you can’t, I promise you can! This is truly about planting a seed or making a deposit in your marriage and family.
We believe that God’s Word works, and He uses countless scriptures to challenge and encourage us in every area of our lives - especially marriage. Our job is to take it to heart, unpack what it means, and apply it to our lives. Small drops make big lakes. Small steps create big changes in our marriages and families.
Are you ready?
To start, we will give you the “why”? Psalm 119: 11 says, “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Hidden means it’s inside of us and ready. It can pop into your head and remind your heart of the truth whenever needed. You usually already know the truth, but it must be reinforced daily!
Prayer:
God, I declare that today, as we dive into and memorize this scripture, we are making deposits into our marriage and family that will take root and bear fruit. Thank you, Father, that as we plant the seed of the Word in our hearts, you are the one that will make it grow and produce more than I can hope, think, or imagine in my spouse, my children, and our legacy.
Action Step
Read the verse Isaiah 40:31 three times, write it on a notecard, and place it somewhere you will see it daily.
