“Make your heart a manger”
For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)
Years ago, a lady named Rose was married to a man named Joe. Rose got pregnant, and their first son was everything they’d ever dreamed of! But then Rose got pregnant with a little girl, and she was born with special needs. Sadly, Rose fell into depression and turned to drinking.
A maid in Rose’s home told her, “Until you make your heart a manger for Jesus to be born, you’ll never be happy!” That made Rose so upset she fired the maid. But that night Rose awakened and felt the presence of God in her room. So she prayed, “O God, make my heart a manger for Jesus to be born!”
The lady in this story was Rose Kennedy, the matriarch of the Kennedy family. She stood tall because she knew the Lord Jesus Christ. Peace came when the Prince of Peace entered her heart.
Have you made your heart a manger for Jesus? Have you welcomed the Prince of Peace into your life?
