INTEGRITY, JUSTICE AND MERCY

Who is this king who rules with such justice and mercy for all that all other kings bow down before him? Some have suggested it was originally written by King David for the accession of his son, Solomon, to the throne. He certainly had great hopes for his boy! The king would rule with such integrity, justice and mercy, that the whole country and even the land itself would be permeated with honor, integrity and peace. Wherever government is weak, wherever society allows criminality, women and children are the first victims. This psalm prompts us to ask God to bless our land with such leaders, who will not only govern with justice and compassion for all, but who will also make sure for the fragile environment of our land. Thank God for the King of kings who blesses us with all good gifts for both body and soul.

Dear God,
Bless us with leaders who promote justice and compassion for all. We pray that we would all be instrumental in helping and caring for those suffering from slavery, sexual violence, oppression and other kinds of corruption. – Amen

Justice

My inspiration for this 30 days Devotional is from prolonged theological discourses on Justice. My burning desire is to see that the Church becomes catalyst to stop violence against the poor. I am also grateful to Organizations who work relentlessly to secure Justice for the poor.
