The Courage to Trust
There are few things more powerful, and more vulnerable, than choosing to trust.
Trust is key in any relationship, whether with people or with God. And our trust is put to the test when secrets are uncovered or expectations aren’t met. But when our vulnerability gets exposed and we feel taken advantage of, where do we turn?
Scripture gives us the answer: Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday (Psalm 37:5–6, ESV).
When we don’t know who to trust, when we don’t know how to trust, when all we see is the uncertainty, that’s when we have to remember God’s nature and who He is.
It isn’t easy, especially when this world feeds us news and information that’s distorted. But it is possible. You can trust God. And you will not be put to shame.
Personal Reflection
Has your trust ever taken a hit in a relationship? Have you struggled with trusting God? In what situations and relationships do you need the courage to trust today?
