"Fierce" - Chris Quilala
The song Fierce is about the overwhelming, undeniable love that Jesus has for the world, “Like a tidal wave crashing over me rushing in to meet me here, Your love is fierce. Like a hurricane that I can't escape tearing through the atmosphere, Your love is fierce.” We see this in the parable of the prodigal son and the beautiful picture of a father running to embrace his own son that had squandered his own inheritance and returns home empty handed, lost, and ashamed. Expecting his father to reject him, the son finds the opposite, “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.” Luke 15:20. Many of us have had encounters with God's love that have changed our perceptions of Him, and in turn, how we respond to him. Here we see a son expecting to be rejected but instead is embraced and celebrated.
When we encounter God's love we are changed forever. We begin to think and act differently as we become evermore aware of the truth that we are sons and daughters of a father that gave everything to be with us.
