Have you learned about icebergs? If you have, then you know that only 10% of an iceberg is above water. The other 90% is hidden below the surface: unseen, unknown, and invisible from above.
Believe it or not, people can be a lot like icebergs in this way. What we see on the surface—what we think we know about others—is only part of the story. There’s always so much more going on—things we don’t know that may be causing them to do things we don’t understand.
Instead of judging others, we should remember there is always more to the story than we might not know or understand. Because of that, the best thing we can do is choose love, compassion, humility, and sympathy when interacting with others.
