Saizvozvo Soromoni akapedza imba yaJehovha, neimba yamambo; zvose zvakanga zviri mumwoyo waSoromoni kuita muimba yaJehovha, nomumba make, wakazviita kwazvo. Ipapo Jehovha akazviratidza kuna Soromoni usiku, akati kwaari, “Ndanzwa kunyengetera kwako, ndazvitsaurira nzvimbo iyi, ive imba yokubayira zvibayiro. Kana ndichinge ndadzivira kudenga, kuti mvura irege kunaya, kana zvimwe ndichinge ndaraira mhashu, kuti dzipedze nyika, kana zvimwe ndichinge ndatuma denda pakati pavanhu vangu; kana vanhu vangu, vakatumidzwa nezita rangu, vakazvininipisa, vakanyengetera nokutsvaka chiso changu, nokurega nzira dzavo dzakaipa; ipapo ndichanzwa kudenga ndichavakanganwira zvivi zvavo, nokupodza nyika yavo. Zvino meso angu achasvinura, nzeve dzangu dzichateerera ndinzwe munyengetero unoitwa panzvimbo iyi.
“Nokuti zvino ndatsaura imba ino nokuiita tsvene, zita rangu rivepo nokusingaperi; meso angu nomwoyo wangu zvichavapo nokusingaperi.
“Kana uriwe, kana ukafamba pamberi pangu sababa vako, Dhavhidhi, ukaita zvose zvandakakuraira, ukachengeta zvandatema nezvandatonga, ipapo ini ndichasimbisa chigaro chako choushe, sezvandakapikira baba vako Dhavhidhi, ndichiti, ‘Haungashaiwi munhu achabata ushe hwaIsiraeri.’ Asi kana mukatsauka, mukasiya zvandatema nezvandaraira zvandakaisa pamberi penyu, mukandoshumira vamwe vamwari, mukavanamata; ipapo ndichavadzura nemidzi panyika yangu yandakavapa, neimba iyi yandakatsaurira zita rangu, ndichairashira kure ndirege kuiona, ndiite shumo nechiseko pakati pavanhu vose.
“Neimba iyi kunyange yakakwirira ikadai, vose vanopfuura nayo vachakanuka, vachiti, ‘Jehovha wakaitireiko kudai nenyika ino, uye neimba iyi?’ Vachapindura, vachiti, ‘Nokuti vakasiya Jehovha, Mwari wamadzibaba avo, wakavabudisa panyika yeIjipiti, vakanamatira vamwe vamwari, vakavanamata, nokuvashumira; saka Jehovha akavapinza panjodzi idzi dzose.’ ”
