DAY 2 OF 7

Dark Days.

As a kid, I occasionally got scared of the dark. I don’t believe it was darkness itself, but rather, the feeling of the unknown. I would fear that something would get me or was watching me. I was the kid that had a plan for everything so if someone was going to get me, I just needed to know so I could prepare. But darkness doesn’t always tell. Often times it is in the dark that most people feel afraid, but in the case of depression, darkness becomes something of normality. The feeling of being alone, yet vulnerable, is too familiar. Fear can come and cripple your mind, but this darkness and sadness you feel is not in control- you are. God speaks many times about the power of light especially in combat with the dark. Some say it is just a metaphor, but tell that to my testimony.

We have the ability to shine light in darkness without any physical form of illumination. Simply by the power of our salvation, we conquer darkness. Light is a representation of life itself. Letting your light go out is the beginning of a slippery slope of forgetting the power of life. Depression will not kill you, but giving up can. Live and shine! Depression is merely a shadow in comparison to the light of our salvation. There is no middle ground. Darkness comes when you forget about the power of the light inside of you!

I dare you to confront the dark gloomy feeling that wars against you. Mentally “Turn on the Light” of your spirit and remind yourself that in Christ, you are empowered to out power the darkness!

No more darkness means no more hiding the light.

“Today, I can fight for my mind. I will not give up even in the slightest bit. I have the power I need through Jesus Christ and I will fight until my victory comes. I will turn on the light of my salvation that will overpower the dark cloud of depression. God, give me perseverance to fight even when I’m tired.”
Dan 1Dan 3

About this Plan

Anchored: Through Deep Waters

This 7 day plan will provide biblical truths to help sustain you through the deep waters of depression. Depression doesn’t have to cause you to drift away or knock you off the path God has for you. If you find yourself, like I did, in the deep waters of depression looking for an anchor, journey with me through the next 7 days as we find hope in the Word of God.
