A Minute For MommySample
A Kiss a Day Keeps the Doctor Away
No mother wants to see her precious child fall down, bump his noggin, or stub his toe. Unfortunately, these accidents do happen from time to time. When my children hurt, they run to me for support. Most importantly, they want a kiss. Somehow, a kiss from Mommy makes everything better. The tears disappear and a smile returns.
My boys come to me all the time with their hand, leg, or toe stretched out to me. Sometimes I hear, "Mommy hurt” or "Mommy kiss.” I know what I am supposed to do. I reach down and I kiss their hurt. Magically, in a matter of minutes and sometimes seconds, they resume playing as if nothing ever happened. They needed my love and my care, and they received it.
As you know, regardless if you are a new mom or an experienced mom, you will encounter bumps and bruises along your life's journey. You will fall down, get discouraged, and cry for help. The good news is, like our children, we too have someone who loves us and cares for us more than anyone else in this world - our heavenly Father. No matter how deep or how wide the pain is you are suffering, God is waiting for you with outstretched arms. As powerful as a mother's kiss is, his is much more powerful and perfect. He is the Great Physician.
If you find yourself struggling with any type of pain - physical, emotional, or spiritual - run like a child toward Jesus. Reach out your hands, your arms, or your whole self to him and shout, "Father hurt. Father kiss.” God will help you and comfort you. He is always there for you. Our heavenly Father wants to wipe away your tears and help you smile again.
