The Purpose of Christmas

DAY 13 OF 15

The weeks leading up to Christmas can be filled with joy, anticipation, and excitement. There’s so much to look forward to, so much to enjoy, so much to experience. But the reality is it can also be filled with a lot of things we don’t necessarily enjoy, look forward to, or get excited about. Things like conflict, hurt, and disappointment can just as much be markers for the holiday season. But the good news is, no matter what comes our way this holiday season—the good, the bad, and everything in between—Scripture reminds us that we have what we need to cover it. We have Jesus’ deep love for us, which covers everything in our lives.

Every stress, every struggle, every worry, every doubt, every mistake, every fear—love covers it all! Out of that love we have the freedom to move through this season with peace, knowing our sins, our worries, and our anxieties are all covered by Jesus. Anytime you find yourself feeling stressed out, overwhelmed, or simply struggling to make it through this holiday season, ask God to remind you that His love is always available to you. Because of that, you can have the freedom to experience any part of the season with God’s love on your side.
