The Book of MarkSample
Mark 15 is one of the most intense and emotional chapters in the entire Bible. It’s where we see Jesus being put on trial, mocked, beaten, and ultimately crucified. One key verse is Mark 15:37: “With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last.” This verse marks the moment when Jesus gave up His life for us. It’s a powerful reminder of the lengths He was willing to go to show us how much He loves us. This chapter might seem heavy or even hard to relate to at first, but think about it this way: Jesus went through all of this because He saw something in you that was worth dying for. He wasn’t just taking on the pain and the punishment for no reason—He was doing it so that you could be free from anything that holds you back whether it’s fear, mistakes, or things you’re ashamed of. Jesus took all of that on Himself, so you wouldn’t have to carry it anymore.
It’s also important to remember that Jesus didn’t stay in that tomb. His death wasn’t the end of the story. Three days later, He rose again, proving that nothing—not even death—can defeat Him. This gives us hope and shows us that no matter what we face there’s always a way forward with Jesus. Jesus died so that we can have life - Jesus changes everything.
Question for today:
What are some things in your life that you need to let go of, knowing that Jesus has already taken care of them on the cross?
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for going through so much for me. It’s hard to even imagine how much You suffered, but I’m grateful that You did it because You love me. Help me to let go of the things that weigh me down and to live in the freedom You’ve given me. In Your name, Amen.
