Deeply Rooted Part 2

DAY 3 OF 6

Faith Has a Voice

When your faith goes deep in the soil of God’s Word, you develop an ability to hear His voice. And when you hear God, your faith grows.

So, faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. Romans 10:17.

If we want to abide in Christ and remain connected to the Vine, it’s imperative to know Scripture. He rebuked the Pharisees for not doing this:

and you do not have his message in your hearts, because you do not believe me—the one he sent to you. You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! Yet you refuse to come to me to receive this life. John 5:38-40.

What a stern warning!

The ongoing ethic for foundational faith isn’t built on doubts, habitual sin, or fears but of honesty. Dragging your sin into the light and bringing light by the community of faith should be our purpose in pursuing the truth.

Confession and accountability are the methods God gave us to keep on the path of righteousness and to receive the power of God. Our motivation stays high and comes alive through Scripture to encourage the soul, empowers our faith, and boosts our faith to do the assignments given to us.

How did Jesus accomplish so much in His three short years of ministry? He took His time to know the Scriptures. He knew it so well He used the scriptures during His “tests” in the wilderness, right before His ministry launched.

Recorded in Luke 4, the Holy Spirit led Jesus into this time of testing with Satan. Jesus recited the Scriptures as His default answers. He repeatedly said, “It is written” and “It has been said.” (Luke 4:4,8,12) He used truth to stand strong against Satan. He dedicated Himself to knowing God, knowing scriptures, and doing what God said to do.

We can recognize Jesus’ foundation of faith is strong and impenetrable. Based on God’s Word His defense against the enemy was both offensive and defensive, certainly strategic. Knowing God’s Word is irrefutable, immutable, and infallible.

The Bible should be the basis in which we conduct ourselves and set the course for our life. Every aspect of every life experience should be filtered with understanding and evaluated with the lens of God's truth. Jesus’ faith foundation must be our faith foundation.

About this Plan

Deeply Rooted Part 2

A deeply rooted faith requires every believer to know God through His Word and by His power. The only way we can withstand the attacks of the enemy and the pressure of everyday life is by having our foundations on the solid bedrock of the Scriptures. God’s recorded revelation and words of truth have changed millions of people throughout history and is essential in developing a deep spiritual root system.
