31 Values to Pray for Your Kids

DAY 3 OF 31

Love

As parents, our hearts are filled with love for our children, and we desire that they grow up understanding the true essence of love as demonstrated by Jesus. We long for them to walk in love, living lives that reflect God's love in all they do.

In Galatians 5:25, we are reminded to keep in step with the Spirit. We want our children to learn to live by the Spirit, allowing God's love to guide them every step. May they experience the transformative power of His love as they grow, shaping their character and actions.

Ephesians 5:2 calls us to walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us. We pray that our children follow Jesus' example, living lives marked by sacrificial love and kindness. May they understand that true love is selfless and seeks the best for others, mirroring the love Christ has shown us.

1 John 3 speaks profoundly about the nature of God's love and how we should love one another. It says that we know what love looks like because of God; He is love and demonstrated that love toward us by sending Jesus Christ to us. We must communicate, demonstrate, and articulate this love to our children so they will be secure in His love for them and then love others with that same type of love.

Pray:

Father, in Jesus’ name, we lift our children to you, asking that you fill their hearts with your love. Help them to keep in step with your Spirit, letting your love guide their every decision and action. May they follow the example of Jesus, walking in the way of love and living lives marked by kindness and selflessness. Let your love take root in their hearts, and may it flow through them to everyone they meet. Protect their hearts from bitterness and resentment, and help them to always choose love, even in challenging situations. We trust that your love will guide and sustain them throughout their lives. We pray in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus, amen.
