31 Values to Pray for Your Kids

DAY 13 OF 31

Purity

As our world delves more into moral ambiguity, we are called, as Christian parents and grandparents, to lead our children with moral purity. Our world celebrates impurity and presents countless daily temptations and pressures our children face. Instilling God’s word in their lives becomes crucial, and it will establish a commitment to purity within them.

Psalm 51:10 calls on God to create a clean heart in us and renew our steadfast spirit. This verse emphasizes the importance of purity not only in our actions but also in our thoughts and intentions. As we seek purity of heart, we invite God to cleanse us from all unrighteousness and to renew our spirits with His grace.

Psalm 119:9 directs us to how a young person can stay on the path of purity by living according to God's Word. Our world often promotes compromise and moral relativism, but the Word of God is a beacon of truth, guiding us toward righteousness and purity.

In Genesis 39:6-20, we read the story of Joseph, who exemplified unwavering purity in the face of intense temptation. Despite being tempted by Potiphar's wife, Joseph remained pure by resisting her advances. His story serves as a potent reminder that purity is not simply the absence of temptation but the strength to resist it through faithfulness to God's commands.

Pray:

Father, in Jesus’ name, we come before you with hearts burdened by the pervasive influences of impurity in our world. We pray for our children that you guard their hearts and minds, preserving them in purity amidst the temptations surrounding them.

Create a clean heart in our children, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within them. May they find their strength and identity in you, and may your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path.

Like Joseph, grant them the courage and wisdom to resist temptation and to walk in righteousness. Please help them to flee from all forms of immorality and to pursue purity in their thoughts, words, and actions.

We entrust our children into your loving care, knowing that you can keep them from stumbling and present them blameless before your presence with great joy. We pray in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus, amen.
