We often think that we have to have it all together to come to Christ. We can’t even approach God without having it all figured out, buttoned up, and put together in just the right way. Whether we realize it or not, we think we have to behave to believe. That’s where the truth of our salvation is so incredibly important. Not just to know in our minds, but to believe and embrace in our hearts.
Jesus didn’t wait for us to be ready. He didn’t hold off on coming to the world and dying for our sins until He thought we deserved it. He didn’t ask us to do anything at all to deserve it. No, Jesus came to die for us while we were still sinners. Why? To demonstrate the great love and unending grace God has for us. He wanted us back with Him so badly that He sent His Son, Jesus, to make our relationship with Him right, once and for all. This is the gift of our salvation, and it’s one we simply have to believe to receive.
Share the message of salvation with someone in your life this week. Talk to them about what this truth means for you and ask them to share a little about what it might mean to them too. Encourage each other to root yourselves in the truth of what Jesus has done for you!

About this Plan
Like a plant, our root system—our identity—is vitally important to our health. It’s how you see yourself in light of God, others, and the world. It’s what holds you when life changes, threatens, or causes you to question what’s true about you! We’ll look at how a healthy identity rooted in who God is will keep us strong, vibrant, and grounded no matter what comes our way.
