Insights From the Apostle JudeSample
Most Holy Faith
Jude calls all the believers to defend the faith - a set of revealed truths that should be held with conviction.
1) God as the Father (Jude 1:1): God is the Creator and source of life for all creatures, including ‘eternal life’ for all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
2) Christ as Lord (Jude 1:4): Lord Jesus Christ has all authority over heaven and earth, Master and glorious Lord of all.
3) Grace (Jude 1:4): God’s grace is freely given to sinners to repent and be reconciled with God. Jude warns it is not ‘license’ to indulge in sins.
4) Depravity of humans (Jude 1:4): The Fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, the role of humanity, and the universe curse. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
5) Personality of Holy Spirit (Jude 1:19,20): The third person of the Trinity Holy Spirit indwells believers.
6) Satan is real (Jude 1:9): Satan is a fallen angel; he is active in opposing God, His will and purpose in this world.
7) Judgement and Hell (Jude 1:6,7,13): God is the righteous Judge and has all authority to judge all humanity. Hell is absolute, and eternal punishment awaits all who reject Lord Jesus Christ.
8) Salvation by faith (Jude 1:11): Jude asserts that salvation is a free gift received by faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ.
9) Second Coming (Jude 1:14): Lord Jesus Christ will come back as a Righteous Judge over the whole of humanity with his saints.
10) Secure eternal life (Jude 1:24): Those who trust the Lord Jesus Christ will have eternal life. The Lord will keep us from falling.
11) Sovereign God (Jude 1:25): The God of the Bible is not a local deity or god of a clan or a season. God is Sovereign; he reigns over all seen world, the universe all unseen, all humanity and history.
12) Sacred Scripture (Jude 1:15-19): The Bible is true: historically accurate, prophetically true in both- the Old and New Testaments.
