Abundance In The Bush - Country Devotions

DAY 3 OF 14

Protection

G’day mate! What’s that? Tell you a bit about myself? Why, sure, no problem. The name is ‘hat’ - nothing fancy. The job… that’s what is important. I’m in the protection business you see. I protect the hearing of my boss, the eyes that see, the lips that speak, and the computer he uses to think with. I shade him from the burning sun, shelter him from the rain and keep his head warm when the weather turns cold. Vital job wouldn’t you say? Many’s the time I‘ve blocked lantana and wait-a-while from reaching the boss’ face. I’ve swatted bot flies and waved people down. The fun I have, cutting the air as we gallop on the horse, then oops… that gust of wind takes me away from the job I‘m doing. Now where am I? Shading the grass in the paddock! I have even been turned upside-down and used to give those smelly dogs a drink. The boss never leaves home without me. I’m a VIP - Very Important Protector!

Christians have VIP’s they should never leave home without. Ephesians 6:10-18 says to wear the armour of God. God’s armour protects every part of a person. It gives strength in God’s mighty power to stand your ground and to stand firm against the devil. Protection, armour, battles… gutsy stuff. Anyone would think there is a war going on!

Lord, wearing Your armour, I am strong in You. Make me more aggressive against my real enemy who seeks to kill, steal and destroy in my life and in my loved one’s lives. Replace any wussiness with godly grit, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan

Abundance In The Bush - Country Devotions

Seek and you will find God’s signature all over the bush. Pull up beside her creeks. Sit under the majestic gums. Fill your nostrils with branding smoke. Run an eye over the cattle. Discover the parable in every horse. Marvel at the working dogs. The bush offers lessons richer than you’ll find in any classroom. May these devotions bring some of the abundance of the bush to you.
