The Little Sins

DAY 1 OF 7

While You Sin…

“Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God?...“ (1 Corinthians 6:9 NIV)

Are you feeling like me, as you read these verses? Immediately I think, "What? How? But I don't deserve this! And I don't even know if I'm completely free from this sin, or if I won't fail again!"

Thank God, verse 11 continues, "...But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." (1 Corinthians 6:11 NIV) Jesus went to the cross for our sins while we were still sinners (see Romans 5:6 NIV).

And before Jesus left the earth, after He was resurrected, He gave us the Holy Spirit to remind us (see John 14:26 NIV) that He did this for our freedom!

God is aware of how much you struggle against sin. You are not the only person on earth who has it this way. In fact, it’s the other way around: there is not a single person who does not experience this! “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8 NIV)

But God doesn't want sin to separate you from Him. He wants you to come to Him with your sin: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9 NIV)

Toward the end of this week, I will give you the opportunity to accept this very gift that He made possible for you long ago: The forgiveness of your sins and free access to Him while you are still on your journey!

Sin should never stand between you and God. That's why Jesus gave His life for you!

May I pray for you? "Jesus, thank you for knowing us and loving us as we are. Lead us even closer to your heart, keep them from falling, and let them know that You are there too, even when we fall again. Thank You for the cross, and the possibility of forgiveness through it! You are our Savior! Amen!"

You are a miracle!

About this Plan

The Little Sins

Do you ever wonder whether the little sins matter? To God, they do. But none of us are without guilt - we all fall into temptation, big and small. God, as our Father, wants to help us learn how to avoid these pitfalls and find freedom in Him.
