21 Days: Revive Us Again

DAY 20 OF 21

DAY 20: OVERFLOWING GENEROSITY

Reflection:

Zaccheus was once a dishonest tax collector and had a bad rep for being a notorious sinner. But his life was radically transformed when he encountered Jesus and experienced a revival. He became a generous giver who willingly gave a significant portion of his possessions to the poor.

Revival, as exemplified by Zacchaeus, is unmistakably marked by generosity. When our hearts are revived with His living water, immense joy, and thankfulness well up within us for everything He has done. We recognise that everything we have comes from God and that He will faithfully provide for all our needs. Without fear of lack, we are liberated to share and give with an open hand.

Generosity is a distinguishing characteristic of those deeply connected to the heart of God. His heart to love and bless people begins to overwhelm our hearts and overflow to those around us, compelling us to care, give, and share generously. We develop a renewed interest in people, consistently prioritizing the needs of others above our own, and we do so with overflowing joy.

Like Zacchaeus, we can also experience a radical transformation from selfishness to selflessness as God brings revival to our lives.

Response

Are there areas of your life where you have become reluctant to give to others? Why is that so? Remind yourself of situations where God had generously provided for you.

Begin by asking God to show you any anxieties about giving. Bring these anxieties to Him, acknowledge that He is faithful and will provide generously for you. Take a few moments to listen to how He wants to use your life to generously bless those around you.

About this Plan

21 Days: Revive Us Again

Revival. We may have sung it. Prayed for it. Declared it. Most times, revivals are invisible, gradual, and start up quietly in the place that matters the most – in our hearts.
