Have you ever had a friend who just got you? Who not only was able to complete your sentences but seemed to know what you wanted to say before the words even came out of your mouth? Or, even better, a friend who seemed to understand what you needed before you even knew yourself? A friend like that can be hard to come by. In fact, for many of us, a friend like that just couldn’t possibly exist. Yet, as followers of Jesus, we have someone in our life who is just like this. Someone even better!

When we accept Jesus Christ into our lives, we are given the gift of the Holy Spirit, who is the ultimate friend. When we feel stuck in our everyday lives, the Spirit is there to guide us toward making the best choice that we can. When life begins to feel too overwhelming and we find ourselves feeling more alone than ever, we can take comfort in knowing that the Spirit is always with us, always supporting us, and always bringing our needs to God on our behalf.

Today, be honest with yourself. What are some things that you feel you need the Spirit to intercede with on your behalf? Don’t worry about trying to say the right words or express yourself perfectly. Instead, just know that the Spirit understands you better than you even realize.
