Real LifeSample

The longer we live, the more we seem to realize that life is just a series of choices. When we were younger, we could choose to listen to our parents or not. As we got older, the choices we made seemed to hold a lot more weight. We could choose to go to college or get a job right out of high school. We choose to move to a specific city or to stay in our hometown to be near family. We could choose to stay in a relationship or leave it behind. Of course, sometimes our lives are filled with choices that we never really want to make!

Good or bad, easy or difficult, our lives are filled with choices. Each day, we are given the choice to follow the commands that God sets out for our lives or to ignore His Word and teachings to go our own way. It would seem like this choice should be easy, right? We all know what we want to choose, but life has a way of clouding our judgment. That makes what should be an easy choice a daily struggle. The good news? It’s a struggle that we don’t have to face on our own.

Each day this week, as soon as you wake up, spend some time in prayer and ask God to help you make the best choices possible to follow His leading that day.
