Being the Church in the WildSample
Community in the Wilderness
Community is missional.
God didn't create us to live in isolation. We need each other to navigate the wilderness and to fulfill our mission as the church. Community in Jesus is upheld when we are together and we share commonality of the whole Gospel.
As the body of Christ, we:
- Are all made in the image of God.
- All were adopted into an eternal family.
- Have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of us.
Build authentic community with people even if it starts with just one person. Be patient. Pray for your people. Pray for discernment.
Questions:
- Am I intentionally building relationships with others who share my faith and encouraging them in their spiritual walk, or am I isolating myself from others?
- In what ways am I actively participating in the community of believers, using my gifts and talents to serve others and build up the body of Christ?
Action: Reach out to someone who has been a source of encouragement and support to you in the past, and thank them for their impact on your life. Consider ways to build new relationships or deepen existing ones with others who are also walking through the wilderness.
