Purpose-Driven Marketing

DAY 8 OF 10

Call Them To Action

In the marketing landscape, the purpose isn't merely to inform but to inspire action. This could be in the form of purchasing a product, subscribing to a newsletter, or fostering a behavioral change. Like Jesus, we must strive to be clear and compelling in our call to action. Not only should our call align with our audience's needs and interests, but it should also contribute positively to their lives, serving as a bridge that connects them to a more fulfilling or simpler experience.

The remarkable aspect of the story where Jesus calls Peter and Andrew to follow Him highlights the crucial role of building relationships before issuing a call to action - a detail we often tend to overlook. In the Gospel of John, Andrew, the disciple of John the Baptist, is introduced. John the Baptist identifies Jesus as “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world”, and he’s “God’s Chosen One”. This prompts Andrew to follow Jesus, and later, he brings his brother Peter into the fold.

So, when Jesus calls them to follow Him, He has already established a relationship with them. His call to action also comes with a glimpse into what their calling would entail. This points to an important lesson in our marketing endeavors. We, too, should build meaningful relationships (recall day 7!) with our audience before presenting them with a call to action.

As we craft our call-to-action strategies, let's take a leaf from Jesus' approach. Let's ensure we have built trust, demonstrated the value we bring, and shown how our call aligns with our audience's needs and aspirations. In doing so, we're not merely marketers, but ambassadors of purpose-driven marketing, reflecting the love and wisdom of Christ.

Questions

  1. How clear and compelling is your call to action? Does it align with your audience's needs and interests?
  2. Are you building meaningful relationships with your audience before presenting them with a call to action?
  3. How can you better demonstrate the value you bring before calling your audience to action?
  4. In what ways does your call to action contribute positively to your audience's lives?

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for the example of Jesus, who demonstrated the power of a clear and compelling call to action. We ask for wisdom and guidance as we seek to inspire action in our audience. Help us to build meaningful relationships, demonstrate our value, and present calls to action that align with their needs and interests. Let our marketing endeavors not only contribute positively to their lives but also reflect Your love and wisdom. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
