#BeStill (Susanna Bigger)
In no other time in history has mankind produced so much noise as in ours. We are exposed to floods of information, charms, images, and impressions that literally make it possible to live a whole life without conscious moments of silence.
In contrast, all big things in the history of mankind have emerged from silence … also great noise. Beethoven and Mozart locked themselves in quiet rooms for days to be able to hear things no one else could hear – melodies, so splendid that they could never have heard in the midst of everyday life.
I believe it is worth it to look for “islands of peace” and consciously expose oneself to God’s closeness in the prerequisite of our fast and noisy times. In the silence, I perceive my heart and can distinguish God’s voice from the mass of other voices.
Actionstep:
Look for a place where you can be quiet, with no smartphone, music, or other tasks. Simply without anything. Adjust the time to suit your possibilities and write them down in your agenda as soon as possible.
