Wholehearted

DAY 5 OF 5

It’s worth it to live wholeheartedly. It’s exactly what we were designed to do – to love, trust, and follow God with our whole hearts.

But to say yes to loving Jesus with your whole heart, means to say no to other things.

Peter, a disciple of Jesus, knew this well. When Jesus asked Peter to follow Him, Peter left everything behind. Scripture literally says, “so they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed Him.”

Peter left everything he had ever known – but He gained Jesus. What might you need to leave behind to gain a life of wholehearted devotion to Jesus?

We have to leave what we were once loyal to. If it’s porn, addiction, bad friendships, people pleasing, binge-watching shows we know we shouldn’t – we need to leave that behind and turn to Jesus. Serving Jesus is always worth the cost, but there will be a cost.

You can live wholeheartedly devoted to Jesus. It is possible. You have all that you need in Jesus.

Decide to surrender every part of your life to Him. We aren’t meant to be torn, divided, and giving parts of ourselves away. We can love Jesus fully by surrendering ourselves to Him and His good plans each and every day.

Peter left behind everything to follow Jesus. What might you need to leave behind in order to be wholeheartedly devoted to Jesus?

About this Plan

Wholehearted

It's possible to live a wholehearted life — to love, trust, and follow God with all your heart. But with so many things competing for our attention and our affection, it can be hard to put God first. This 5-day plan will offer a guide on how to surrender your life to Jesus each day and begin to live wholeheartedly.
