Influence of God's Glory

DAY 24 OF 24

The Wisdom of Living With Eternal Priorities

King David and King Solomon knew God. They knew the power and presence of God’s Spirit in their lives and knew that the Lord had equipped them to do great things. David and Solomon were also aware of the times their actions were motivated by other things and resulted in sin and separation from the One they loved.

All of us who know God, and have been filled with his Holy Spirit, are equipped to do what God calls us to accomplish. One of the most important choices in life is the choice to live with God’s priorities. A.W. Tozer said, “It is not what a man does that determines whether his work is sacred or secular, it is why he does it.” God wants to motivate and author the desires of our hearts. Scripture is dedicated to helping us achieve what God wants for our lives.

1. Psalm 121 was recited by Jewish pilgrims as they made their way to the temple in Jerusalem. The words are preparation for entering God’s presence. Read the Psalm as a prayer for your own “journey” toward God’s presence. What does the Psalmist want you to understand about living life with eternal priorities?

About this Plan

Influence of God's Glory

As we study Scripture, we will discover that God’s plan cannot be thwarted regardless of who is in power. The point of the original monarchy found in 1 and 2 Samuel, illustrates that from the beginning.
