Influence of God's Glory

DAY 20 OF 24

God Has Chosen You

David was a young shepherd boy when he was chosen to be king. Solomon was the son of David, with Bathsheba, a relationship that began with great sin. Yet, this is the lineage that would one day bring the world its Messiah. Jesus chose his disciples, not from the clergy, but from the many places where God’s people lived and worked. God had a chosen people and gave them a chosen land and a chosen One, to be their Messiah. Jesus said, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit––fruit that will last––and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you (John 15:16). Just as God chose David and Solomon to be his family, He chooses people today – whenever they choose to place their faith in his Son.

1. Jesus prayed for God’s chosen people saying, “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth” John 17:17. What truths have you learned about being a chosen child of God?
Dan 19Dan 21

About this Plan

Influence of God's Glory

By the end of this study, we pray that you will know God’s voice better, that you will know when and how he speaks, and feel compelled to obey. As we study Scripture, we will discover that God’s plan cannot be thwarted regardless of who is in power. The point of the original monarchy found in 1 and 2 Samuel, illustrates that from the beginning.
