Joy in Endurance

DAY 7 OF 7

Our greatest example of endurance is our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He always stayed under His Father, and in His Father, and in His Father’s protection.

• John 5:35 says that He only did the work that the Father gave Him to accomplish.

• John 8:19 tells us that by seeing Jesus, we would know His Father.

• John 8:38 tells us Jesus only speaks what He has seen with His Father.

• John 8:54 says Jesus never glorified Himself but left that to His Father.

• In John 14:10, Jesus said that He never spoke on His own authority, but that His Father worked through Him in.

• In John 15:15, Jesus told His disciples everything He had heard from His Father.

Finally, Hebrews 12:1 encourages us to run the race that God has given us with endurance, based on the great cloud of witnesses who have gone on before us. Hebrews 12:2 tells us to keep our eyes on Jesus, who for the joy set before Him, endured the cross, and in verse 3 – to consider Him who endured such hostility, so that we will not grow weary or fainthearted.

Are you living in Jesus Christ as He lived in His Father?

When people see you, do they see and know Jesus?

When people hear what you say, and see what you do, do they want to know Jesus Christ, the source of our life?

Are you learning the joy of endurance – living your life completely under the guidance of the Holy Spirit?

We pray that you have been encouraged by the privilege and joy of endurance. We invite you to join our Read Scripture 3 course to learn more about being followers of our awesome Christ Jesus. We also invite you to sign up for our daily devotional.
