When You PraySample
Day 1: When you pray, BELIEVE!
Prayer is so powerful, so crucial and it is totally indispensable. Prayer is engaging the supernatural and giving heaven permission to intervene on earth. We cannot fully understand how prayer works but the effects and the results of prayer are undeniable. A prayerful person is a powerful person. A 'prayerless' person is a powerless person. Therefore, Jesus shows us three things that must be in place, not if, but when we pray.
Mark 11:24 “I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.” (NLT)
Mark 11:24 “This is the reason I urge you to boldly believe for whatever you ask for in prayer—be convinced that you have received it and it will be yours.” (TPT)
Mark 9:23-24 “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!” (NLT)
What have you come asking God for in prayer? He that comes to God must believe that He is and He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. For without faith—without believing—it is impossible to please God [Hebrews 11:6, paraphrased].
Jesus says when you pray, believe that you have received it and it will be yours. However, the burden of what brings us to our knees in prayer sometimes has a way of eroding our faith. So, we must, time and again, ask God to help us overcome our unbelief.
Father, by Your Spirit and Your Word, help me overcome my unbelief and build my faith in You, in Jesus Name. Amen!
