Walking in Joy: The Fruit of the Spirit 7-Day Bible-Reading Plan by Kenneth Copeland Ministries

DAY 6 OF 7

Joy Defeats the Devil

“If Satan can’t steal your joy, he can’t keep your goods.” Those are words of wisdom from our good friend Jerry Savelle. And it’s the absolute truth!

The devil can’t whip you and neither can anyone else when you’re walking in the supernatural force of “victory that overcomes the world” (1 John 5:4, MEV)—faith!

Worry, fear, and depression all put you in a position of defeat. That posture opens the door right up to the devil.

On the other hand, joy and praise put the devil to flight. They defeat our spiritual enemy. And the good news is, you can use joy to keep him at bay—no matter what is going on around you.

So, when you get up and have your prayer time every morning, be joyful on purpose. Praise and worship God for all the things He’s done in your life. Get up and dance before Him. Thank Him for sending Jesus to pay the price for you. Thank Him for all the times He’s healed your body. Thank Him for your family and your friends. Thank Him for the things He’s promised and you’re believing for but haven’t yet seen with your natural eyes. See those things done with the eyes of your spirit, and rejoice over them.

Make joy a lifestyle. Make it a daily habit. Even in your darkest hours, when natural circumstances threaten to imprison you, talk back to them.

Your joy will defeat every plan of the devil in your life, and you’ll live in victory like never before.
