Walking in Joy: The Fruit of the Spirit 7-Day Bible-Reading Plan by Kenneth Copeland Ministries

DAY 4 OF 7

Joy Is Power

In comic books, movies, and books, superheroes are portrayed as strong and ultrapowerful. But usually, they have an intense look on their faces, rather than one of joy or laughter. That’s how the world sees strength—intense and serious.

God says that as Christians, the joy of the Lord is our strength. It’s important to know this truth because it seems counterintuitive. Joy is power in the life of a believer. Joy is what keeps you from quitting when things get tough. Joy keeps you marching forward in triumph to finish what God has called you to do.

Joy always brings the victory. That’s why the devil wants to steal it from you. If you have something powerful in your possession, like joy, what do you do? You protect it, and you use it!

The next time the devil sends something your way to try and steal your joy—catch yourself before you flip the switch. Say, “No, you don’t, devil. You’re not stealing my joy today. I’ll keep my strength, thank you very much.” Then, start worshipping and praising God. Thank Him, sing to Him, dance before Him. The devil will disappear so fast, you’ll forget he was even there.

About this Plan

Walking in Joy: The Fruit of the Spirit 7-Day Bible-Reading Plan by Kenneth Copeland Ministries

Could you use a little more joy in your life these days? You don’t have to spend your life trying to achieve happiness, and you don’t have to wait until you get to heaven to have joy. Joy is already inside you as a fruit of the spirit described in Galatians 5:22. Spend the next seven days developing the fruit of joy in your life with this devotion!
