Hallelujahs And Hiccups

DAY 8 OF 14

Marathon or Sprint? You Choose

I’m not a runner, but I want to be. I’m more like an average mall walker on a good day. We were all created to run our race and finish our course. In order to do so we need to have a clear vision for every area of our lives. I admit, there are days when the marathon of life is too much to handle. We can easily take on the sprinter’s mindset speeding through life and hoping the challenging situations  we face will be merely a blur. But life has a way of slowing you down, because you were not created to run all by yourself, there are other people in your life’s relay race that depend on you.

As you grow as a believer, you will be given different batons to carry. Like the baton of your child telling you they’re dropping out of college or the baton of getting laid off from your job or the baton when your spouse tells you they don’t love you anymore. Then there’s the baton of depression, worry, doubt and low self-esteem.  If you’re feeling weary and don’t feel like running anymore, let me remind you that  greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.  You are not alone, and you will win if you keep putting one foot in front of the other. It's your race so pace yourself, take the time, celebrate the small victories, stay the course, get off the course, get back on but keep your eyes focused on the prize. You got this!

Prayer: Lord help me not give up so easily and stop short of the finish line. Replenish me so I can continue to run my race and operate in the purpose you have given me. Renew my strength so that I can do this again. Thank You Jesus for Your power today. Amen
