Hallelujahs And Hiccups

DAY 1 OF 14

Start Something New

The way you get over the failures from your past is by creating an amazing present. It’s time to be brave enough to start something new. What’s the worst thing that could happen? I’m not suggesting that you make irrational or unwise decisions, just start by putting yourself out there to see what you can really do.

It’s easy to stay in a rut and continue your same old mundane routine. Consider a change of pace. It can be as simple as taking a new route to work one day, using the stairs instead of the elevator, going to a different grocery store or even trying seafood. Ok, that’s a stretch. Maybe not seafood, yuck! I’m not a fan at all. I guess it’s a smell and texture thing. Back to focus. Trying something new opens up the possibility for you to enjoy new things and gain a new perspective on life. Entire careers and life paths are carved out by people dipping their toes into the deep end of the pool and suddenly discovering a love for something they had no idea about.

My husband tells me all the time, “The biggest room in the world is room for improvement.” Trying new things really can be a small step toward a self-improvement renovation project.  And who doesn’t need a little self-improvement in their life?

Prayer: Lord, give me the courage to step outside of what is safe and comfortable as I trust You to cover me with your all-sufficient grace. Holy Spirit, teach me how to grow my capacity to handle life’s challenges from a posture of trust and expectation of good. Thank You for Your faithfulness to me, even when I don’t see it. You are my refuge and my strength and with You, all things are possible!
