Welcome to Your New Life

DAY 4 OF 5

Let’s talk about baptism! Now that you are saved, one of the next steps you will want to take is getting baptized.  So what is baptism?  Baptism is a public declaration of a private decision. In other words, it is sharing your decision to follow Jesus with the world! The only requirements are: faith in Jesus and repentance of your sins.

But why?  Well, the biggest reason is because Jesus set the example for us when He, Himself, was baptized.  Jesus knew it was so important that He included it in the great commission, found in Matthew 28:18. The apostles in the Bible followed His example by being baptized also, as well as,  baptizing new believers.

It may seem strange to be fully immersed in water then raised back up out of it, but it is a symbolic act. Baptism represents the death of your old life (going under the water), and rising up in your new life (being raised back out of the water).  It’s a truly beautiful representation of the transformation that took place when you were saved.  When you are ready to take the step to be baptized, please let one of your church leaders know.
