Listening To The Word - 1 YearSample
I Chose You
John 15:16
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit – fruit that will last…”
John 17:3
“Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent…”
Eternal life is not the result of knowing the right verses in the Bible or of going to church, but is the direct result of the eternal life of God entering our physical bodies and giving us new life and a relationship with him. The only way we can experience this life-giving relationship with our eternal Creator God is if he chooses and pursues us. We must respond to his invitation by also choosing to surrender our lives and wills (not just sin) to him. It is God who sent his Son to save us, it is God who pursues and chooses us. Our response must be humble gratitude and a willingness to go and share his offer of salvation and relationship with others. God pursues others through those who know him.
Lord Jesus, you are my life. Draw others to yourself through my life for your glory.
