Listening To The Word - 1 YearSample
Wake Up
Revelation 3:1, 2
“…I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God.”
It is our deeds more than our beliefs or words which reveal the true nature of our hearts.
What are we giving to God of our time, finances and abilities?
What secret sins are we nurturing in the hope that they will give us life?
When we grieve God’s Spirit with our sinful choices we become deaf to his promptings and fall asleep spiritually. The grace of God calls us to wake up! Our sensitivity and responsiveness to the voice of the Spirit is the measure of our inner life. Out of that watchful listening center we are obedient to God’s promptings to love, serve, pray, give, sacrifice and go. In obeying God’s promptings we strengthen our inner spiritual life and bring glory to God.
Lord Jesus, I choose to be fully awake to your promptings and word today. May my deeds please you and bring glory to your name.
