Always This or Better: How to Uplevel Your Value and Step Into Your MOREනියැදිය

In 2022, I was teaching on Instagram when the Holy Spirit first whispered “this or better” to me. We were coming out of the pandemic and people were starting to experience hope that things would be better, but there was still an apprehension that came with good news, that it might not last.

We had been conditioned to expect instability, and many people reacted based on these external circumstances. Do you remember this time?

When the Holy Spirit whispered this or better, the concept removed power from the external circumstances that determined how I felt and thought, restoring the power back to the feelings and thoughts that were based on my internal value set by God. This is a tremendous mindset shift.

As I shared on Day 1, the “this” in always this or better establishes a mindset shift based on God’s value rather than on the “this”—or external circumstances—you may be looking at in front of you.

This is God directing your attention to a higher, elevated, expectation in Him, and you are transformed by the renewing of your mind.

You can pray and ask God to show you what your this should be.

When what’s outside of you has control and you’ve been conditioned by life to expect instability, anyone can affect how you feel and think. Unhealed situations leave you easily affected by emotional and mental triggers that are subject to any external element.

But when you come face to face with God through prayer and meditation, you become more familiar with His ways and direction, and you experience a restoration of your mind and emotions back to His original idea for you. Residing in God’s presence brings joy and life, which contribute to healing and restoration.

We now remind ourselves that it’s “always this or better” to reinforce our reliance on God, to rest in His provision no matter what it is, and to reassure our mind and emotions that we have faith in God, even if we don’t understand and things seem like they’re headed in a direction we wouldn’t have chosen.

In other words, you choose to trust God. Your life is in God’s hand, and He has spoken a Word over you that cannot return void.

No matter what it looks like, you can have a positive expectation in God, and you will experience His goodness right here, right now, in the land of the living.

Today’s Affirmation:

The blessing of the Lord makes me rich, and He adds no sorrow to it. I walk in joy, immense joy! I have this joy because I am assured that it is always this or better for me. I watch every situation result in the glory of God. My spirit rejoices, and my joy overflows!
