Stress Less: 9 Practices That Build Resilience God's Way

DAY 9 OF 11

Safeguard Safety

Community matters. When stress isolates us, safe relationships provide refuge. God created us for connection, and He provides people who can walk with us in life’s challenges.

Isolation often increases feelings of stress and hopelessness. In contrast, being surrounded by trusted friends or mentors fosters resilience. These relationships serve as a safe space to express your struggles and receive godly wisdom. Proverbs 11:14 reminds us that wise counsel leads to victory. When we lean on others, we find strength to endure and grow.

Ask yourself: who in your life points you to God’s truth? If you feel unsupported, pray and ask God to guide you toward relationships that nurture your faith. This could mean joining a small group, attending a Bible study, or connecting with a trusted mentor.

Building a support system takes time and intentionality. Start small by opening up to someone you trust about a current stressor. Invite them to pray with you or provide guidance. Even one meaningful connection can make a significant difference.

Community is also about giving, not just receiving. Consider how you can be a source of encouragement to others. As you invest in these relationships, you’ll discover mutual support that sustains you through difficult seasons.

Remember, God designed fellowship as a gift for our growth. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, “Two are better than one . . . If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” Lean into the strength of godly relationships and experience the beauty of shared burdens and multiplied joys.
