Still Standingනියැදිය

Running a race requires determination. While it can be easy to get distracted during the race, athletes will fix their minds on the reward waiting for them at the finish line. In the same way, followers of Christ who are still standing in faith at the end of their lives are promised a great reward. As we run the race of faith and fight the good fight, our hearts and minds need to be fixed on the eternal reward waiting for us in heaven.

Often, the Bible speaks of the reward waiting for us as a “crown.” This is not a crown of a king, but a crown of a victor, given to us by our King, Jesus. Although it is something we receive, it is not something we earn or deserve. Ultimately, these crowns are a symbol of the eternal life that we will receive through Jesus Christ. The greatest reward we receive as a result of standing firm is the gift of eternal life with our God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Running the race is not easy, but it is worth it. This temporary life is nothing compared to the future eternity with Christ. But even though your time is short, you can still have an eternal impact. Set your eyes on your eternal life with Christ as you live out your calling from Him. As you push forward in faith, remember that Jesus is both your current redeemer and future reward, consistently going to Him to finish your race well and looking forward to being with Him forever.
