DAY 3 OF 5

LEARNING TO WAIT WELL

Begin today with thanksgiving. Thank God even for all the times you may never know this side of heaven when He came through and saved you again and again. And for all the times when you have seen His miracle-working power at work in your life, doing the impossible, bringing the miracle light of Christ into the darkest of nights. Also thank Him for all the breakthroughs you are still believing God for. Hold on!

The Word of God tells us: “I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread” (Psalm 37:25).

Enter today declaring this over every circumstance in your life. We follow Jesus just as we are today, believing that He will do what He has said He will do, working in and through every circumstance to see His purposes established.

A little reminder: Most times we WILL be required to wait for these miracles to come to pass, but I can guarantee that while we wait, we see so much more of the creativity and nature of God as He shows His faithfulness in different ways along the journey. Learning to wait is one of life’s great lessons—and learning to wait well is even greater. Learning to trust is what I like to call a superpower!

It’s funny that when things feel out of control and we feel overwhelmed, the hardest thing to do in the natural is to wait and trust. We want to help God out and move things along. Trusting God means trusting in a God you cannot see with the things in your heart that you cannot deal with. Trusting has everything to do with waiting. The truth is, being strong in Christ has more to do with sitting than with striving.

I pray this stunning Scripture over you today:

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
His mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22–23)

Amen and amen.

Lord, I wait for You today. My soul waits. As I wait, I remember Your faithfulness. Help me to see more of who You are as I wait for You. Amen.
