Decide to Thrive: Youth EditionSample
The Growth Decision: Called to Make Disciples
Growing in faith doesn’t stop with personal growth; it leads to helping others grow too. This is called discipleship.
Being a disciple means learning from someone and then sharing what you’ve learned. It’s not just about growing yourself but also about helping others grow. This process is like working with clay—messy at first, but with time, effort, and care, it becomes something beautiful. Helping others grow in their faith takes patience, energy, and sometimes difficult conversations. Yet it’s one of the most rewarding things you can do.
Making disciples doesn’t mean you need to be a pastor or an expert. You don’t have to know everything; you just need to be willing to share what you’ve learned. If you’ve experienced God’s help in a specific area, you can encourage someone who’s going through something similar. Walking alongside others and pointing them to Jesus is what making disciples is all about.
Teaching others is also one of the best ways to learn. As you share what you know, your own understanding deepens, and your faith grows stronger. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s progress. When you help others, God also grows you.
Reflection: Who has been a disciple-maker in your life, and what can you learn from their example? Who is someone you can begin to disciple?
