Consider
Jesus, as the Light of the World, entered the darkness of human existence, revealing who God is and showing His compassion and understanding for our weaknesses. He dwells with us, offering hope, healing, and life. Let His light guide our hearts, even in the world’s brokenness.
As Christmas lights fill the streets and homes, they powerfully remind us of how Jesus’ presence pierces through the darkness. The warmth and beauty of the lights can draw us to reflect on the truth that no darkness—whether in our hearts, our circumstances, or the world—can overcome the light that Jesus brings.
Meditate
What do you currently notice about the limits of your human flesh?
Where are you in the dark and need a revelation from the Lord?
How is He inviting you to shine the light to those around you?
Activate
- Enjoy looking at Christmas lights. Use it as a reminder to worship the true Light of the world.
- Notice the lighting in your favorite spaces. Allow that to remind you of the light of Jesus.
- Accept the limits of your humanity in this season. Notice where you desire to add or subtract activity and how your activity level affects your physical body.
- Consider what it was like for Jesus to humble Himself and become a man.
- Light a candle and contemplate how it dispels the darkness. Where might the Lord invite you to shine His light to those around you?

About this Plan
A 5-day devotional based on the song “Royal Son.” Each day will include a space for stillness, Scripture, considering a devotional thought, pondering questions, and activating what you just read with practical next steps. Because this is considered an Advent/Christmas song, some suggestions will pertain to the Christmas holiday.
