9 Days of Gratitude and ThankfulnessSample
Our Response to the Character of God
There are many attributes of God— characteristics that help us understand who God is and how we should interact with Him. Over the next few days, we’ll look at just a few of the characteristics of God and take time to remember and give thanks to Him for who He is and what He’s done for us.
Everything we have is from Him, from our Salvation granted through the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ to the daily reminders of God’s Presence; we’ll spend some time this season giving thanks and praise to God as a practice of obedience and display of worship to our Almighty God!
We have so many reasons to be thankful for Jesus, so this time together will be focused on exploring a number of God’s attributes. This isn’t an exhaustive list of God’s Goodness, just a glimpse of who He is. Our response to His Great Works brings us to a place of gratitude and thankfulness and a greater desire to be obedient to His Word.
In response to who He is, at the end of this series, we’ll have an opportunity to take a step of obedience in sharing the Gospel with the world as Jesus commands in Matthew 28:19-20 and Acts 1:8 with access to a practical guide to help you share the Greatest Gift with those in your life, Jesus!
Each day, we’ll have an opportunity for additional journaling time with prompts designed to keep our eyes focused on who God is and how we should respond to Him!
We’re excited to join you on this thankfulness journey!
Father God, thank You for who You are. Help focus my mind on You and give me a heart of thankfulness. I ask that Your Spirit guide me as I learn more about who You are. Help me to understand difficult concepts and transform my heart to see Your Hand in every area of my life. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
Journal Writing/Prayer Prompt:
Write down what you’re most looking forward to during this thankfulness series. What are your expectations? Is there any area of your faith or understanding of God that you’re struggling with?
Spend time in prayer, giving these challenges over to God and asking Him to reveal His Truth to you during this series.
